G4tv.com - News: "Arrests Made in Relation to Half-Life 2 Theft
Posted by kanoe on 17:38 PM PST - June 11, 2004
Valve has announced the following today:

June, 10 2004 - Arrests have been made in several countries related to the break-in to Valve's network, theft of the Half-Life 2 source code, and release of the source code on the Internet.

'Within a few days of the announcement of the break-in, the online gaming community had tracked down those involved,' said Gabe Newell, Valve's CEO. 'It was extraordinary to watch how quickly and how cleverly gamers were able to unravel what are traditionally unsolvable problems for law enforcement related to this kind of cyber-crime.'

Thousands of tips were received related to the criminal activities, with a core group of people who were able to analyze and backtrack from these clues. Subsequent to these individuals being identified, Valve has been working with various national authorities to prepare cases against those involved, leading to these arrests.

'It was very uplifting to see how the community rallied and tracked these people down. Everyone here at Valve is once again reminded of how much we owe to the gaming community,' added Mr. Newell.

For specific details on the arrests, please contact the Northwest Cyber Crime Task Force, Seattle, 206-262-2030."

[Confederate Wraith] - ChopperWeb.net: "The concept for the Wraith, first drafted in 1999 and then shelved, was born while fleshing out the major design elements of the new Hellcat . As the Hellcat neared completion, thoughts turned to several issues concerning the fundamental nature of a motorcycle, the American V-twin in particular, and its history. Grappling with these issues as work neared completion on the Hellcat brought about the resurrection of the Wraith as a plausible medium for us to find a solution.
The foundation of the Confederate mantra is holistic design. The Wraith is based on a conception of the layers of visual harmony serving as a pretext for the industrial and mechanical challenges of designing a motorcycle. With this in mind, we came to the conclusion that the best opportunity for addressing these issues was the unique relationship of a motorcycle engine to its chassis. Therefore we started with the traditional 45 degree V-twin, (which is taken from a radial, seven cylinder, air-cooled Curtis airplane engine), as the visual predicate from which all engineering and aesthetic solutions would be built upon. The logical conclusions gleaned from these harmonic, overlaying circles proved spectacular.
The radial backbone represents a complete rethinking of the interaction between engine and chassis. The engine is mounted significantly forward of the central axis, slipping between the massive thin wall dual downtube, providing world class horizontal weight distribution and, thusly, near perfect front end traction. The fuel cell is housed beneath the powertrain, which not only significantly increases mass centralization, but also reduces the effects of constantly decreasing fuel weight. New suspension dynamics virtually eliminate stiction. Reduced unsprung weight results from the extensive use of aerospace engineered ultra lightweight "

Nokia Rolls Out New Ammunition: "The five new phones will fill in some key areas for Nokia: Three of them are clamshell, or flip-phone, models, which the company has not previously sold. Nokia has also boosted its midrange product line and added color displays to entry-level products. Although these are not mind-blowing additions, they are essential for keeping customers and carriers happy and keeping the company in the race.

Google Image Result for www.motorsports-network.com/kawasaki/04street/zx10or4.jpg: "World Premier: KTM Superbike concept bike 'RC8' released at Tokyo Motorshow.
The RC8 CONCEPT BIKE underlines KTMs long term vision for the road.
For the RC8, we brought our riders to the design table as well as the best technicians and designers. Our aim: The ultimate weapon for ambitious street-fighters. This means: A radical concentration of its mass around the compact 75 V2. Innovative details are everywhere: The seat is the tank, keeping fuel at the machines centre of gravity. Dry sump lubrication allows the entire exhaust system to sit precisely where it has the least influence on dynamics, directly under the engine.
The fairing is designed to produce the least possible crosswind drag - no crosswind oscillation, spell-binding agility, and aggressive steering ability.
Form follows function
Our design approach is very simple. At KTM, an air duct is always first and foremost an air duct. First the function, then the beauty. But anyone who stands and beholds her can tell that we dont leave the appearances short. Her powerful lines and extreme reduction to the basics characterize her as a unique, wild and emotional motorcycle. A striking statement for our future on the road.

A lovely 2 stroke dont ya think? They should allow more 2 strokes like this in California. I would prefer a 250cc but this one will have to do. Posted by Hello

This is a 50cc bike, it is really sweet looking and I want it! 2 strokes rule! Posted by Hello
