Twenty years gone, but Bhopal gas victims still lead a suffocated life: "Twenty years gone, but Bhopal gas victims still lead a suffocated life:

[India News]: Bhopal, Dec 2 : Today's night is a night that will torment the residents of Bhopal forever. Barely minutes after settling down in bed on the chilly night of December 3, 1984, a deadly gas leak stung their eyes and they soon began vomiting blood. What followed was a disaster. As many as 33,000 people faced painful deaths. Lakhs of them face its after-effects even now.

Nearly 40 tonnes of lethal gas - Methyl Isocyanate - had escaped from a vat at the pesticide plant in Bhopal that night. Two decades on, the pain hasn't eased for any of the survivors affected by one of the world's worst industrial disasters at the factory owned by Union Carbide, now a subsidiary of Dow Chemical Company.
